R.J. Grondin and Sons is seeking a proven leader to join their growing team as Project Manager. As one of New England’s premier construction companies and a leader in heavy highway, commercial site and other earth moving projects, R.J Grondin & Sons is looking for someone to uphold the company’s standards of quality and customer satisfaction while safely completing projects on schedule and within budget. The right candidate will have excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills and extensive experience within the construction field.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Superintendent and Foreman to plan, monitor and control construction progress – 50% of the time will be spent on project sites.
- Manages the financial aspect of the project including cost reporting, forecasting, and invoicing.
- Responsible for good client and site engineer relations and communications
- Manages subcontractors and suppliers as well as pricing and negotiations of change orders
- Interprets plans and specifications to determine order lead times and answer vendor questions
- Develop project objectives and goals
- Represent the company at project meetings and contribute to resolution of construction issues
- Identify and mitigate project risks and support the company safety program
- Business development
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Min. 5 – 10 years of related construction experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- PMP, CAPM, CCM or other relevant professional certifications/licenses preferred
- OSHA 30-Hr or OSHA 10-HR training required
- Must have valid drivers license and be insurable by the company
- Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and AGTEK software is preferred
- Experience with scheduling software and HCSS estimating package preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills (tact, motivation, diplomacy)
- Understanding of job cost reporting, billing and payable procedures
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and complex projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good negotiation and presentation skills
