Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders

Maine Behavioral Healthcare needed to expand to better serve the more than 40,000 Maine children with autism and other developmental disorders, so a new facility was added to the campus of Spring Harbor Hospital. The 28,0000 square foot Center for Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders facility was designed to provide the best therapeutic environment for the population. Compete with sound dampening systems to maximize comfort, an indoor gym, special nooks and cubbies to provide quiet retreats, visual communication supports, natural and controlled lighting that can be adjusted to meet sensory needs, and an extensive outdoor play area.

R.J. Grondin & Sons worked with Langford & Low to provide the sitework portion of this critical project. During this multi-year project, Grondin provided the structural excavation for the facility, removed over 11,000 CY material, installation of over 14,000 SF of porous pavers, underground utilities & site drainage, R-Tank systems, transformer pads, light pole bases, and all site improvements. Grondin was able to meet the Owners schedule and delivered our scope of work within budget.

You name it, we work on it!
